hey good start to a sketchbook!
i like image 10-3 it has a real immediacy to it. james jean has five pages in process recess that look a lot like that image. i should try and do a few of those myself!
i think you could work on proportions. better knowledge of proportions will help you with the figure drawings and even more on your imagined characters.
keep drawing!

Hey man, very cool to see this much life drawing going. It's great when you treat the sketchbook page as a whole composition like this one (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=218444&d=1192412015). Try not to retrace your lines so much on the figure drawings, put one line down and stick with it, you'll get more confidence in your line.
Awesome start to the thread, you've got a good eye!

I love all the life studies, especially the one in the lecture hall. It's inspiring to see.

...now if I can just remember out how to properly use this.... :wtf:
Dangermouse illustration and a 2hr oil study.
Anyone want to tell me how I get text inbetween the images? (as they dont seem to appear in the space that I'm writing)

Been really inspired by Algenpfleger dedication lately. If I'm going to get anywhere, I need do the same.
Some crappy photos of anatomy studies from Mucha and Bridgeman, and something from the moleskine:

Dungeons & Hunchbacks? HAHAHAHAHA!
You should develop that concept!
The more I went down on the page the more I liked your sketches.

David-david: Actually what its supposed to say is "Dungeons & Douchebags", but I managed to forget the 'E' after telling myself not to, lol. Argg I always do that! >:(

Thanks for the encouragement ya'll :)
Haven't done any environments in Photoshop for at least a year now, so I thought it was time I jumped back in.
Looking at various people for inspiration and to learn from and pretty much am just making it up as I go along, tryin slowly figure out how the pro's do it. (mostly lots and lots of practice, I know)
We'll see how far I take this... (next one will be more thought out with thumbs)

Having met Autumn in real life, I can definitely vouch for her caboose being much nicer in the flesh (or the denim, as it usually is).
Your lineart is improving by leaps and bounds, Sweck.

Really really cool moleskine you got going! About the enviro, you should probably try to do reffed ones first. I see you've been trying to lay down every leaf of grass, but look at pictures and see how much they are actually visible from the whole. You should just put down what you see/feel.
