Heya...new member here. By way of introduction, i'm a brit of 15 years. That seems to just about cover everything, really.
I started drawing at about the beginning of this year, and that was pretty much due to this forum. Thanks for the inspiration.

First off, some doodles from around the house..

..and the closest i've ever got to life drawing, portraits in brush pen. They capture a good likeness, but they ended up looking pretty goofy

I'm ordered a few bridgeman books, so i'll be getting stuck into some anatomy studies in a few days, hopefully.

seems someone really reads all those "DRAW FROM LIFE" replies... and that's great! inks are a bit tough to get handle on but they pay off well so stick to them. last pic inspired by coro? if so, that guy is great to learn from.

what's with the attitude?

el coro is a featured member of conceptart.org and an inspiration to many people. his ink stuff is well known around the forums and that's why i asked if it was inspired by him.

I found out today there are only so many ways of sitting on this chair..they're a little hard to read, but still

it seems that whenever i'm feeling uninspired or burnt out all i need to do is browse around this forum and i'm all ready to get back to work again.
anyway, i do hope i'm not boring you folks.

tried to do some pencil type stuff. this one didn't turn out very good. sloppy shading and bad contrast don't mix :hmm:

tried a rougher paper. the first thing at hand was some paul kidby illustrations, so i did some studies of those. i know any monkey can copy an artists work but it lets me try different things with pencils without having to think too hard. these are from the pratchett illustrated novel the last hero ..i'm rather a fan of his books.

i've delayed this long enough - time to get stuck into some anatomy drawings. impending school means i'm going to be pretty busy :|

Aidan, thanks. It's nice to have a confidence boost now and again. i certainly will keep at it. but right now i owe myself some sleep, which might go some way to explaining the small update ;o .

just starting up with some simplified type studies for tonight. still waiting on those bridgeman books. i did about two or three pages of this stuff.
