...destroy a DeviantArt account? Or have I left a permanent mar upon the internetz?

I made one in my prehistoric art days and I wish for it to be dead. Is this plausible?

noooo sir. He's that "super popular" Deviant right?

Well I deleted all my "Deviations" (why can't the just call 'em sketches, or drawings? Or paintings if it applies). But the account is still there. So funny, I remember thinking "Man finally a way to get my art "out there" Yes!". How foolish.

Indeed, you can no longer close an account. DA does however have instructions for removing practically everything - here (http://help.deviantart.com/113/).

You can probably also get yourself banned (thus closing the account) by acting like a complete dick, though by the look at it you will have to work hard at it, given how many complete dicks are still active on DA.

Also, DA seems to randomly unperson people without reason or notice, so if you wait long enough it should happen through blind chance.

I was going to suggest that you keep it up.
That way you can go back there when you feel inferior, so that you can see how far you've come.
Or you could go back when your ego gets too big, so you can remember that you were once that bad.

That's why I kept almost all of my old drawings. :)

I don't think it was so foolish, if you didn't have any other information at the time. Mine is still going to sit there, if only because my mother still can't figure out email attachments and its an easy way for her to see my stuff. (Threaded sites like CA would be miles over her head, trust me, "right-click" is a challenge.)

I have to admit though, I continued with DA after I was introduced to ConceptArt due to the extremely high intimidation factor engendered by, well hell, the front page... but got over it because when everything is "Awesome, Kawaii!" nothing is.
