Hey how do I take a scanned b&w line art picture and paint it without setting it to multiply? I've seen some tutorials about it but they aren't very clear, I need to know how to remove the black from the scanned image and transfer that to a new layer and then paint underneath. Thanks! :) :xbox:

What I do is:
Click on the channels in the layer menu
Click 'Load as a selection' on the bottom of the menu
The go to the 'Select' drop down. select 'inverse.'
Now All your line art is selected. Make a new layer. Your seletion should still be on. Now fill the layer with the color of your choice and it will fill in only you line art selection so you end up with a layer with just line art and no background(transparent).

I do exactly what FactorZero does. It's simple and effective! :D
