Looking for album art for an upcoming independent album from NYC-based band HUNG. We're a progressive death metal band and looking for an artist to create a 4 panel (1 fold) original artwork for our upcoming CD, "Progeny".
We can do the typesetting, but if you do that as well, that'd be great. We have the text ready.
What we're looking for:
An epic environment scene that conveys a sense of a very large, vast, dark space - our music is big and heavy, think Tool meets Opeth, or Dream Theater meets Arch Enemy. Scream/growl vocals over technically complex, but melodic instrumental parts.
we have hints of religious / sacrilegious undertones in the lyrics but they're all a bit twisted and dark
We don't want a bunch of people or creatures - more the lack of or departure of humanity
Images that we like:
a desert at night - vast, huge - if there are hints of humanity, it would be either far off in ruins or left long ago by a traveler
battle for heaven and hell - okay, there are human figures in this one for sure, but it's once again huge and epic
broken or tarnished/corrupted/eroded images
post-apocalypse ideas - though not a futuristic/sci fi thing.

Yes, this does pay, TBD by the amount of work. However, it is somewhere in the range of $500.
