wow i like the form and the quality of shading ...
but you might want to focus a lot more on the proportions next time around

i agree with josh....the values and contrast are great, but the proportions aren't there yet (eyes too big, mouth too small, ect....) Look at John Singer Sargeant's portrait drawings for reference and study head structure. I wish I had the sense of value and focus/ contrast that you have... just keep practicing!

yeah, i didnt realize how messed up the proportions on the guy are. the girl had this really big nose, so i played that up a little. thanks though!
