I currently studying multimedia, i like character design alot. It has always been my dream to work in industry as a concept artist and a character designer.

I would like to improve on human anatomy, perspective and color theory or whatever that can help me fulfill my dream .

A little bit more that i want to describe myself is - im quite quiet. When in a group i like to listen .( Doest mean i dun talk )
In drawing i think my weak point is coloring ( in any media ):dad:

Actually i like every artist work. I concentrate more on the skill and tecnique. The dislike ones is just the style....
The one i like
1. I like Inoue Takahiko work. This is because the way he apply the brush stroke on his character. For me i like chinese brush painting and water color alot .The Brush stroke can express many things. Example , chaos , speedness , softness , calmness and many more.It can also tell the artist feeling when he or she is doing the painting. I hope one day i can master the skill and apply on my character. Just imagine a cool robot apply with that style !

2. I like Marko work also , just look at the details. When i first saw his work - i was like OMG :x

3. The last is water color on rice paper, i dun know who the artist. I like it because when i look at it , the painting seems to have life in it....Is so peaceful to the eye.

The one that i dun like

1.Initial D. Man.. just look at the pic , the eye nose mouth is just wrong ! and i dun think that is something call style in that..

2.Nothing much to say just pointless to me ( maybe for others there a special reason in it...)

Homework week 1

In the previous submission, i struggle alot in the lighting and her eyes. I dont know why is just cant draw her eyes , nose and mouth correctly. i wasted many time on erasing and drawing those. Nvm ill keep on trying.

Here is another try. 90min. I think this is better .
So this time i choose a easier one ( black and white ).

Any feedback will be good.

cool, thanks for the explanation. you probably had a hard time w/ the first because it's full front view which is harder than a 3/4, the lighting is very flat and her face photoshop smooth. there are less visual guides to go buy in that kind of situation. you'll understand what i mean when you see my lecture.

Week 2 homework

Here is mine.
1. portrait ( 30 min ). still cant capture the whole thing correctly.
2. Free Drawing -watercolor .Doest turn out what i wanted ( wanted the bk ground to be white but it look to empty when finish ) As a result it look unfinish. I wanted it to be white because i wanted my painting to stand out.

In this piece i struggle a lot in the composition and also what i should i do to the background ( which is my weak point )and i crop the sides of the picture in photoshop to make less empty >:{ .

Homework 3

Ok, for me i would really like to improve in human anatomy. I think the most effective way to study anatomy is to pratice and understand the foundation of it.

In this assignment, i will study the very important things that i did not paid attention to so far or never ( human anatomy ). I will study the very basic to the most advanced knowledge of human anatomy.

The works that i am going to do is copies of a book ( Human Anatomy for Artist ). I am doing this because i want to know
1) How the bones, muscle relate together.
2) To really draw a proper figure with no anatomy problem.
3) Basically everythings

I am going to studies as much as i can for this assignment, so you can point out where i did wrong or what appraoch is better. 3 weeks is not enough for what i want to studies or achieve, so the others ill do it on my own time.

Here are two studies that i had done so far ( basic skeleton, will go into depth soon ). Ill try to post my progress daily.

Update studies 4

i am like the quality of the drawing here. the exterior contour lines on the bones could be a little more defined though.. its not super fuzzy but still got some peachfuzz on it...

but more importantly, how much of this is going to retain in your memory? do you really want to work totally inside out, for example memorizing the skeleton, insertion and origin of muscles, etc? there are a lot of bones and muscles and stuff.

how might you simplify what you can 'remember'. for example in terms of the skeleton, the most important areas are the areas that show through the skin/fat/muscle layers, like the skulls, joints, major bony protrusions etc....

let's see some memorization studies. throw these things in perspective.. with ref and without etc. find out what is the best way for YOU to learn this stuff... if it's really what you want to learn! (a lot of great concept people really only have a basic understanding of anatomy... the majority of it is just great drawing/painting/design)

Homework 3

Here is the works that i think i want to get some crit.
I choose this two because it is the simplified of everythings that i have study so far. Besides that, i think this two studies make the human anatomy easier to understand (at least for me.. )
especially the bone struture. It help me to draw a more proper figure.

i'm impressed by the amount of work done... however if you want a better crit it would be useful to have the original reference side by side the copies. i know anatomy is your focus here but it's not going to help if there are gross visual errors. try to get that done.
