Hey friends!

Heres some recent goodness from the t-man!

These vehicles were first painted separately and then later put into a backdrop, just to add a bit of believability to them. The backdrops were done in hours whereas the actual vehicles took me weeks to get exactly the way I wanted them. However i'm done with em now and deserve a break from scifi stuff. Think Im going to return to my private adventure game project again:)

The canyon piece is just a quickie but I thought I might as well add it. It's inspired by a picture I saw here on ca a month or so ago, there was a canyon and a red parrot in it.. not sure who made the pick. It was a nice piece anyhow, with a great palette, so I stole it! :)

Dont be shy fellas.

Amazing stuff :D

On the first one there's something that's nagging at me about the background... but aside from that amazing work. The second one brings me back with fond memories of playing BlasterMaster for the NES

1st one has nice styling, the building in the bg can have softer edges tho, right now they stand out too much.
Check some perspective on the front right wheel of the vehicle, maybe some sort of stylised background around it or just darkening out the street to the side, it's supposed to be in shadow and makes it look flat there.
I like the 3rd one most, despite the awesome colors there isn't enough contrast, you don't really have to paint in anything specific but just up it on the lower portion of the drawing.

:) These are really good, please I'd love to see more!

The perspective of the ship air foils on first one seems off. Because the ship is closer to the viewer my eye expects the differences in wing sizes to be less drastic. That is the only thing that seemed off to my eye. Everything thing else is spot on impressive work.

The last one could be phenomenal with further conceptual completion. It reminds me of one of Ray Bradbury's Chronicle book cover artworks. Well done, Theo, continue to mechanize these into their own worlds.

Keep doing you

Amazing stuff as always. F#@*ing great!
Like Fellah said, i would like drive your vehicle concepts hehe.
Your artwork has a personal signature, and it's great, all the time i see your image i can say with sure: It was created by Theo!
But one question: how to turn the wheels of the second vehicle? is it the front view?

Awesome as usual, as I told you before I really like the atmoshpere on the first one especially. Still can't think of anything to crit really... hehe you know alot more about drawing than I do. :D Maybe the character on the second one could need a little more work.. I understand he is just there to show the size of the veichle but you know how much I like character design.. would be übercool to see some more defined characters from you.

Keep it up!

hey there

my quick .02

On the first piece - have to agree with telekon about the perspective..the far diagonal tail/wing seems to be the culprit. It doesnt seem to be in the same corresponding position of the near one.
As for the overall feel. You have that very dramatic sky back there but it doesnt seem to have as much of a dramatic effect on the rest of the piece - since the side of the ship/building facing us is very bright. If you darkened our side considerably -still retaining some info in the shadows - and have that light hitting/glinting off the sides of your subjects - the whole thing would pop and come into place.

- adding more of these ships in the distance will help to push scale
- watch out for the yellow - its a bit too cartoony
-the far building, even if they are that far, should be darker.

as far as the last piece - despite it being a quickie - another 5 minutes pushing the dark to light values would help tremendously. Its very midtone right now.

hope that helps

Nice work, you've got a very unique style going on. Dont think I've seen anything quite like this on concept art before. Sweet mix of graphic flat shapes and detail where it counts. You're telling a story very economically where others would get bogged down in detail.

love the drop ship... it's minority report meets evangelion. Very cool. But why the curve in the fuselage?

Man, that third image. How cool. I envy your ability to convey so much in that image while keeping it so simple. I would love to be able to give my work that much life with that amount of detail. Seems it shows the power of composition and color pallet. Great job!

stalsby: thanks man!

BlazeF: Yeah youre right dude, the backdrop isnt tight enough. Ive been putting too much time into the dropship and not enough on the rest I think. BlasterMaster forever btw:D

Thalion: I'm glad:)

DARYL: Thanks dude, Ive been watchin allot of ghost in the shell lately, thats probably where the anime style comes from. Gotta love it <3 Grymma grejer du ritar föresten.

Fellah: Me toooooo!

AngryScientist: Solid crits! thanks.

Telekon: thanks and yes im going to have to do some perspective fixes.

Vulgar`: Anything related to Bradburys work has got to be cool, so I'll take it as a complement!

Jorge Gecov: haha! I cant believe youre the only one who noticed that mechanical flaw.... Thats whats so fun with scifi concepts, anything goes. I agree it should be fixed though:) just a matter of separating the plate from he rest of the hull I think. Fun you noticed!

alti: thanks man. Cant take cred for the palette tho since I completely plagiarized it. But apparently it was a good choice to do so:)

Justin Oaksford: Man you have no idea. and thanks.

Kaya-: yeah its about time I learn how to draw characters huh?

Eric Gerhard: Thanks buddy, keep drawing!

Rascar Capac: Rock solid crits as always. I take them to my heart. Specially the cartoony yellow, you really have a point there. Thanks dude.

Flashy: Thanks man thats a fine compliment! It means allot.

Tessilago: Thanks tess! Keep drawin em creatures!

Max A K Challie: Thats the reaction I want! thanks!

Lord Dubu: Its all just silly design, no thinking behind these shapes:)

Aghast: Thanks!

MR. Carbon: Glad you like it!

CHARLES CARVALHO: :D

Donovan V: Yes, it really is important to invest your time where it counts, this is a lesson Ive learned the hard way, but an incredibly important one nonetheless. Both for compositional and timetable reasons.
