Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting work here. When I was young I spent so much time drawing but I ended up stoppping and never picked it back up until now at the age of 27. I've been doing 3d as a hobby for a few years now and figured it was about time I started to get my butt back into drawing.

I picked up a book by Lee Hammond the other day because I really like the soft shading in her work. Anyways I wanted to start a thread of my progress as I get back into drawing and hopefully get some feedback and motivation from the amazing artist here.

Here are two pieces I did. I really did rush too fast into making a full face but I wanted to see what I could do. I'm going to go back and practice each piece of the human face until I feel more comfortable and then I will try and full head again.

Thanks for any comments

That´s funny , i also drew sporadically and then focused on 3D for two years untill i realized that 2D is my passion. So i guess we have the same targets here.:)........

It´s a good start to ascertain your boundaries, so you can really focus step by step of what you want and need to learn.

Promising start! Keep it up.

here are a couple hands I'm working on...the more shaded one's wrist could probably be a little wider when I look at it now.

any chance anyone could give a tip on scanning your drawings...I find my work looks better on paper then when I scan it...it looks more grainy in the scan then the nice smooth look it has on my paper here. Is it better to take a digital picture of your work instead?.

thanks

a little 30min section of the skull I did tonight. I will be starting an art class soon so i'm hoping to really make some progress in learning how to draw.

here you go (oh and I changed the hue/saturation a little in photoshop to give it a nice soft feel)
