STAR WARS: RENEGADES
My name is Ben Davis, I'm an independent film maker in the dallas area. For the last year I've been working on a script for a STAR WARS fan film entitled Star Wars Renegades. The film takes place between episodes III and IV of the famous space saga. There is room for many, many designers on this film-- we have need from environments to weapons, from characters to ships that need to be created.
This fan film is much more then two fifteen year old kids playing with a light saber for ten minutes. I've spent over a year trying to capture the essence of the Star Wars movies and come up with a script that truly fits their mold.
Why should you invest your time into my project? To start off I'm an experienced film maker who has the guts, and heart to follow this through the lengthy production process. I've placed highly in many film competitions, worked on professional commercial shoots, and have contacts in that arena. We've started this off right by seeking the honest advice of the highest professionals as well as their work. I have enlisted the help of professional actors who have been in Network Television shows such as Prison Break, and set designers who have worked on Disney Production's such as the Lion King on Broadway to help with this film. Likewise oure stunt coordinators are trained and professional blackbelts with years of experience in training. We have also been in contact with local studios to seek professional sound stages. Also, as much as I love Star Wars, making free fan films is not something I will be doing forever, with an entire bookshelve full of scripts to produce, and more coming from several writers I know... I'm sure to need hired designers in the near future.
What would you gain from this? To start off. This is stinking Star Wars, if thats not exciting- designing something for a Star Wars movie, I don't know what is. Your work will be displayed on our website, (which is currently under construction) for other people to see, as well as listed in our films credits. Being a worker in the media work force I know how important it is to have quality work to present future employers. This is a great oppurtunity to pump up those portfolios. Also, I can guarantee that through working with me your name WILL be passed along to others who will have the ability to pay you for your services.
