did you ever play Marathon, back in the day? I got the like ultimate set, with all three games (collector's edition? i dunno.) like years ago. but they had this thing with art. There was an alien that didn't make it into the game, called the armageddon beast, that looked a lot like your slimy dude. I remember I always wished he had made it in...so cool
so enough rambling!
so i'll be honest, i love the sketches. like more than the finished. but the "finished" is cool too. I wonder about his feet...traction? impact...?
i dunno, think about it.
it would be great to see a swarm of these buggers

ljefe - im not planning on colouring it dude, i never heard of this marathon but it sounds cool. i see what you mean about traction!, maybe i could make the tips look a big more gritty to add more grip but my original idea was just to have the boney legs.

capone - thnx man, yeah i tried to keep the same shapes as the sketches in there. im gonna try and do 2 of them. lets just see how this one goes.

Because of the way the feet are placed, I get the feeling that the skin by the ass horn should be more convex. The horn could be taken to be pointing a little towards the viewer right now.

Could also be full of shit as this is a solid piece. good stuff!

feels, it has a small mouth if you look close ( its where all the drool is coming from) hes supposed to ram and beet his prey to death with its shell and legs then feed on its corpse with its smaller mouth.

Haha, yeah... I saw the mouth before, but I was curious as to how it could feed after it kills its prey (electric shock would have been a much more discreet answer). Its front legs didn't seem to have any clasps so it couldn't put food in its mouth. And its legs would look to get in the way if it fed off the ground.

Great creature!

At first, the positioning of the legs seemed off to me, but if it's in the midst of a gate then it makes sense and looks good.

I far prefer the red one, although the mouth/saliva is much improved on the last pic - Looks excellent now.

The ass bone is a brilliant idea... while it's feeding, this is great defense!

I have no problem with the background story on this and it's feeding methods... that's all good.

The only thing that really bothers me is the eyes. I don't like them. All sorts of other looks and configurations, including no eyes at all, could be explored.
