my most recent project for my advertising art class was to design a comic/cartoon character, with your standard front and side views in black and white, as well as a full-color action pic of said character... here's what i came up with and handed in this morning (the comic-style panelling was me exercising creative license and was not asked for but given anyways... :p)
not entirely happy with it, but it's done and submitted, and i had to cram everything in (from concept to artwork) in the space of a night... oddly enough, the printout looks better than the soft copy... o_O

original rez was 1200x1800, printed out at 7in x 10.5in... and this is the last time i decide to do an entire redesign from concept up the night before it's due... o_O

c&c very welcome

oh yeah, couple things to note: the assignment called for an upper limit of a 5-head tall character, hence the somewhat stockiness of the guy... and the snakehead thing is a helmet... i don't have the front/side views up coz my scanner isn't working...

self crits: could be cleaned up some, lighting is inconsistent, palette is just awful, and the position of the guy's front arm, i noticed today, isn't very clear... :/ oh yeah, and the perspective of his rear foot is off... the top of the foot should be showing...

i showed a friend, and he commented that it looks like the guy has fire coming out of his dick... unfortunately, he's right... it does look that way, doesn't it? o_O
