Purpose
To create a high quality 10-15 minute 3D cinematic using production elements (from concept art to 3d animation) and to gain extra material for the portfolio for those who contribute. Keep them skills going!
Goal
10 - 15 minute 3d cinematic
Genre
Fantasy
Story so Far
This is basically an intro-like “about the project” to give you an idea of what’s going on. I am currently still writing a lot of things out for the storyline and script but more can be shown once completed of course.
Example of an intro:
“A silence has been broken, and the winds carry a fell voice that speaks of death and ruin. Soon is the time when the enemy will make his return to the known world, and venture to claim all within his grasp. His army is regrouping-- he is almost here.
For over a hundred years, the old alliances of Aaldamir shared an unspoken truce with those who fought alongside the dark lord long ago: a vow to remain apart.
But now the lands are tested.
Ahn'Torrak has awakened and rumors of the ancient ruler returning grow louder. The old alliance now seeks strength and truth before it is too late. A shadow looms over Aaldamir, and it chills the hopes and joys of yesterday. Destruction breaks on the horizon.”

It’s under heavy construction as I was using it for personal use to organize and keep things in order for this project.
Some incentives I’m trying to work out
Unfortunately, this is not paying. It’s just for fun, practice, and to beef up that portfolio. On that note, I have been thinking of some things that would be cool in the end once it would finish successfully. Examples:
> Obviously, all images you produce, you can use in your portfolio. No questions asked. As long as you acknowledge that it was for this project. And, full credit will be given to the artist for everything they produce, no questions asked. You shall be getting exposure to the max.
> After this is all done and settled, I would love to put together a 100 – 150 pg book of all artwork and images for this project. Kind of like a “The Art of” book. That being said, and depending on how many artists and people joined into this thing, I would probably buy everyone their copy as a thank you. I don’t know something like that.
> Ill think of more.
===========================================
As of right now, I am still writing the script. I plan on having 15 pages for sure (15 minutes) and then crunch it down from there with help from others. So, with that being said, this is what would be expected from a concept artist (not all of them by one single artist, of course):
Character
Environments
Weapons
Items, etc.
As of right now, I have:
- Me (I’ll be doing the writing, 3D modeling, some concept art, and maybe some animating)
- An English major (helping with the writing aspect)
- A Sound engineer (she just finished VFS and can do the sound for this no problem, which kicks ass)
- Maybe another 3D modeler
So as you can see…I don’t really have any artistic development within the team as of yet. I would much prefer to start off in the concept stage, as I already have begun to come up with some concepts.
Anyways, this is it. I was going to propose this project about 5 months ago but held off as I reworked some of the story, and character developments. I understand it will be hard to get something like this going but you’ll never know until you try.
I will try to respond to everyone personally for those interested. I think this is very do-able with an amazing result. I look forward to hearing from those who are interested, and thanks for your time!
Jimmy
Reminder: This is for a NON PAYING (NON COMMERCIAL) proposal unfortunately. As much as I would love to pay for all the talent out there…I’m just not made of money. If you’re interested, have talent but not using it at the moment, and want to keep building your portfolio, please email me
