Job Description:
Big Huge Games, developer of the award-winning real-time strategy games Rise of Nations and Rise of Legends, is expanding into a multi-team, multi-genre, next-gen company. We're looking for a gifted, energetic User Interface Artist to help us carry on our tradition of providing fun, intuitive, visually stunning interactive experiences in upcoming titles.

Developing cutting-edge new IP across multiple next-gen platforms and genres, which will include work on our unannounced console
RPG title led by Ken Rolston, Lead Designer of Oblivion and Morrowind.
Pushing the development of RTS games through our Rise of Nations franchise and beyond.
Continuing to develop downloadable games like our upcoming version of Settlers of Catan for Xbox LIVE Arcade.

Job Overview:
Working closely with the art and design teams, the User Interface Artist will create art assets for menus, icons and in-game HUDs, in addition to ensuring upcoming titles' usability by designing intuitive, attractive, and innovative UI systems.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Designers and Art team to prototype and implement menu and HUD systems.
Create user interface art assets (menus, icons, buttons, backgrounds, maps, etc.) that matches and reinforces the art direction of
the title.
Maintain and update UI elements of titles during throughout the iterative design process, as well as during usability studies.
Work with programmers to improve the usability of the Big Huge Engine's tools suite.
Skills and Experience:
Must possess strong illustration skills, sophisticated design and typographic sensibilities.
Should be well versed in Photoshop, proficient in 3D Studio Max.
Flash, Motion Graphics, ZBrush experience a plus.
Must provide a solid and consistent body of relevant illustration and graphic design work.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively and contribute to team atmosphere.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Nuanced understanding of user interface design
Familiarity of game development processes, limitations, dependencies, and trends.
Task driven, self-motivated, and proactive.
Works well under deadline pressure.
Must possess an enormous passion for games.
