versus the Intuos 2?
I have an Intuos 2 now, but curious as to how important the tilt feature in Painter is.
thanks for your opinions....

Hi kcx,
You already have the Tilt feature with the Intuos 2 tablet, in case you thought it was only supported by an Intuos 3 tablet.
The only thing you're missing is support for Rotation Expression which is available with the Wacom Intuos 3 tablet if you also have a Wacom 6D Art Pen.
I'm still using an Intuos 2 tablet (6 x 8 working area) and only want the upgrade for Rotation support as that's needed to take full advantage of the Painter X RealBristle Brushes' flat varaints and flat variants found in other brush categories, to control the angle of the brush by rolling the barrel of the stylus between our fingers and thumb.
Other than that, I don't know of any difference in the Intuos 3 tablet/6D Art Pen combination from what we have with an Intuos 2 tablet.

Although you're talking about tilt, the express keys were a major reason why I upgraded, not to mention the pen itself, is closer to the classic design. The intuos 2 grip had always bothered me (yes you could purchase another pen or get the duo switch removed) but the flimsiness of the duo switch bothered me a lot.
I use the duo switch quite often for "eyedrop" or color sampling. The intuos 3 express keys help me with not touching or reaching for the keyboard as much since I can program the most used commands onto the express keys.
Brush Size, Step Backwards/Forwards are on my tablet as musts.
Jin already answered your question on tilt/rotation so... just giving you other reasons why intuos3 may be something to consider.
