Nest Egg Studios Inc is looking to expand or consultant base by sourcing to help push the development of our visual prototype. Specifically we are looking for those that understand the risk in working in an online startup environment and are able to exude unnerving commitment to the quality development of Nest Egg Studios Inc products.

Nest Egg Studios Inc. is an innovative, start-up multimedia game company, pioneering in sophisticated development of mesh-up genre online gaming, the next phase of MMOG entertainment for adult game consumers. The consistent popularity of premium entertainment, 2.0 technology and online gaming are proven winning concepts. Nest Egg Studios Inc. is combining these forces in its signature game "Heavenly Bodies: Riffed Galaxy" producing the first groundbreaking 2.0 MMOG for adult consumers

Concept Artist / Storyboard Artist / Enviornment Artist

Responsibilities:

The artists will work with the leads, senior artists, existing concept artists, and will help drive the style and direction of the demo environments and game characters, giving the demo visual direction before final environments and characters are modeled and textured. During production, the concept artist will work hand-in-hand with a level creation team, in order to create style guides and concept art that will help the entire team see the visual and creative direction for the demo’s game levels.

You must have an exceptional portfolio which showcases your talents in both 2D and 3D art. The role requires strong communication skills and keen attitude to get involved with the game vision and design. You should possess exceptional classical art skills - preferably in mixed media - as well as excellent computer art proficiency. Storyboarding skills would also be useful, although not essential. The successful applicant will work well in a team and be open to the ideas and input of others.


The role of the artist will have several areas of emphasis; characters, storyboarding, user-interfaces or PR and marketing materials. Character ideation and design (i.e. outfits, hair, fashion), environment ideation and design (i.e. styled level design experience is highly recommended) and component ideation and design (i.e. trees, household objects, vehicles, c etc.) Produce final concept drawings, pre-production materials, any necessary for IP/Licensor approval drawings and construction drawings, may include; Creatures, Environments, Storyboards, or Overall Look and Feel on a small project.



Prerequisites:

· traditional art skills - with a fine arts background

· artistic ability and an understanding of visual communication

· ability to imagine, visualize and conceive objects, characters, environments or other game elements in a way that contributes to the overall visual quality of the product.

· very strong traditional illustration skills in a variety of media as well as excellent drawing skills

· expert fundamental skills and illustration skills

· a strong ability to think in 3-D

· good use of line, light and shadow

· storytelling and concept development

· breadth of artistic styles

· understanding of color theory

· strong understanding of human and animal anatomy

· ability to work within a style including a style set by another artist/art director

· strong environment concept art skills

· a excellent understanding of design process and methodology and how it is integrated into game production

· history of developing exceptional presentation materials in black & white, color and physical 3D (mockups, actual models, sculptures, etc)

· good ability to visually and verbally communicate complex mechanical and emotional concepts

· mature illustrative style using Photoshop or Painter

· willing to take on a variety of art tasks

· ability to work within technical constraints to generate top-quality art

· ability to meet deadlines

· texturing skills beneficial

· ability to work and contribute effectively in an online team environment

· good communication skills


Desired Skills and Pluses:

· Professional experience in multiple disciplines

· Preferable (but not necessary to talent, knowledgeable person) AA, BA(BS) Degree of Arts or equivalent from accredited Art Institution.
