Hi, thanks for checking out the thread. I'm an artist, professional graphic designer and amateur screenwriter. I'm hoping to change that last one in the future. I've written four scripts, and continue to write and develop story ideas, with the intention of getting some of them made or sold someday soon. I'm learning as I go, so 6 years into it, I'm improving all the time.

I'm looking for a professional concept artist to help me with developing some images for one of my stories. The first script I wrote is a larger than life, mythic sci fi story in the spirit of Star Wars, the Matrix, Serenity/Firefly, The 5th Element, The Chronicles of Riddick, Dune, Aeon Flux, V for Vendetta, 1984, etc. If these titles get you interested, then maybe we can work. I'm looking to pay for some single image concept pieces. If you are familiar with the initial work that Ralph Mcquarrie did for George Lucas then you will understand right away what I'm looking for. Lucas hired Mcquarrie to create striking images of scenes from his first Star Wars script to help sell the idea. http://www.ralphmcquarrie.com/galleries/SW/sw.html

I'd like to have you create 10-20 of these scenes, and maybe a few character designs. As far as style, well, I can appreciate talent in many styles, but I know what I like when I see it. More so than a great artist, I'm looking for someone who also gets the idea and is interested in doing more than just have me give them the thing to draw and then they send me the finished product. I'd like to work with someone who can discuss the story and elements with me, do a few sketches, maybe even throw in their own twists and turns and then take the final chosen design for each piece and run with it.

I'd like to work with someone who can create unique, realistic yet otherworldly images with a twist, something that makes the scenes jump off the page and almost sell themselves.

I'm an artist and designer myself, and I’ve already created a pile of drawings to flesh out the story, so I will be particular in what I'm looking for, but I have worked for myself as a freelancer and know what its like to have a client take advantage of you, jerk you around and not appreciate the value of your work. SO I'm looking to pay for what I want and compensate you fairly. I'm far from well off, but I'd like to take some money this year and invest in this and see what it may lead to. Understand that I'm buying your work, it may help sell a project or it may sit on my shelf.

If this sounds like something you're qualified for, interested in and have time to work on, drop me a line and send some samples. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

cheers
Seth
