yeah man, i fell in love with mine, although its the smallest sized one. looks like a good start, keep working on it! id like to see it finished. only 2 crits... his hat looks like its about to fall off his head(kinda), and you forgot the shadow of the sword.

Chris,
thanks for the critique. most people never reply. i always get a bunch of looks and no comments. anyways, i did this one at about 4:30 in the morning. i was up all night trying out the new wacom. i love it. i will continue to work on my art. i will improve!! actually i draw in the painter program for about 2 hours minimum every day, so my technique is definitely improving. i guess i should post some of the stuff. anyways, thanks again for the comments. i will work harder....

yeah unfortunately a few posts usually fall through the cracks... people often get upset about it, and reasonably so, but i usually try to catch those and give a crit if i can. i know how it feels to have a post sink to the second page of a forum without a reply, hehe... sucks. its great youre studying in painter so much... what version? classic?

yeah, it's classic.
i wonder how big a difference there is between painter 7 and the classic version.
i wonder if using v7 would help me at all or if it would be the same. anyways, i love that program. it is so much more versatile than photoshop.

i think theres a thread about the differences beween painter7 and photoshop floating around, might be of use to you. classic has a bunch of elements taken out, such as layers, some brush options(i think) and some other stuff.

quantas - I got very curios when I read "pirate concept" (since I'm a great pirates fan myself, when I have learnt to draw better I want to do a comic on pirates). However, a picture alone doesn't make a concept. Do you intend to do more? What is this character intended to be, captain, cook, carpenter? What project are you working on (except doodling with painter). I think when you give more information on your works you'll receive many more crits and not only looks.
Hope this helps
