This is definitely my favorite of your paintings. The colors and values are bolder than usual, very effective.

The large mushroom, tho, you're trying to show light coming through with the red parts, right? I think you need to make the more opaque areas darker...the middle of it is a little too evenly grey, flattening it out. Deepen the shadows around the stalk and it'll pop into three dimensions.

I look forward to seeing more like this! :chug:

Great, I love the perspective and the way you set the light.

thx all very very much :)

@bwkeouch. know what you mean. It was as you said, but i decided to take the darkest parts away to show that this large mushroom is not in the first line. So a bit less depth for the mushroom itself, but hopefully more depth to the whole piece. But perhaps it was the wrong decission because of the main position of this one in the picture, im not sure.

As to its 'atmosphere' this picture is, as far as I remember, the best I have seen yet in this forum. The only two things which need some change, I think, are the gels hanging from the mushrooms (they seem as an excess which permit the lurking of an artificialty in the whole picture) and the way the trunks are unified with the 'roofs' of the mushrooms (they ought to be more centered - without loosing their liveliness of course).

Anyway, it is a great picture. Its colors, its feel of the 'textures' of the objects, its sense of depth etc. all are great.

Just now I am going to visit your site:-)
