Hi all,

I can't decide which one is better. Graphically, the first one's perhaps more interesting, but the 2nd one's more like the original ads and shows better the "bottled" shape.

I would like to have your opinions, please. Thank you.

In my opinion the second one is a lot better becauese it has the simplicity of the ads with a simple background of the grey values, which look almost white, but you can still see what it is,and it acentuates the bottle shape of the guy, on the first one I think the black on the background connecting of the black of the robe makes it harder to see what it is.

i think the second one is better, because it is "clear". the first one has to much shadows -IMO-

I prefer the first one. I like the shadow on the deathstar.

The second one ist best. You know why, just look at it.
Poster art has to be clear and easy to read. One has to be able to read the poster in a few seconds.

I agree even tho the death star is much more subtle, a poster needs to have this kind of impact.
By the way tegehel, this is funny as heck :) Have you flipped trough the "Absolute Book" ? Too bad some of their adds are missing in that book.. but it's still a great eye-candy read.

I really like you alternative starwars posters. I agree with the other folks about the second one being clearer/truer to the Absolut ad line, but I think the death star reads too much like a moon. Is a compromise between the first and second images possible?

just another idea, but after reading your message and before the images loaded, I was hoping to see Yoda stuffed into a vodka bottle :D

thank you for your answers, and please, don't stop giving your opinions, I'm counting them. So far #2 wins, but I still am not 100% sure myself (#@%!)

Yoda in a bottle ;) heheh that's funny, reminds me of the Tequila worm.

I've tried to compromise but it wasn't satisfactory. It looked too much like it WAS obviously a compromise, you know what I mean? I will try again though.

For those of you who can't read Aurabesh (Ooh c'mon :)... that's the SW characters at the bottom), it says "Nunc est Bibendum", which is Latin for

NOW WE MUST DRINK!

I like to make things easy to on the viewer...yahyah

I like the first version best, but I think it'd help if you added a light outline around the figure to help it stand out more against the shadows of the deathstar. Just my opinion.

holy shit, you're doing an ad for absolut vodka!? THAT MAKES YOU SO COOL! oh yeah, go number 2 for sure.

I bet if you took the second and added a couple of tie-fighters flying around and a starry background it would instantly convey 'death star'.

And maybe move the large crater-gun to the left a bit so it's more visible.

Is this a school project? I had to do an absolut ad in illustration class. That was at least 8 years ago... just shows the strength of this ad campaign!!!

The second for sure! the dude and his figure are enough to convey the image of starwars.. and the suble touch of the deathstar in the background is nice

The first one is too bold and "in your face", the absolut adds are more simple in thier contrast..

so yea.. the second
good stuff

Thank you all very much for your answers. No, I'm not making an Absolut ad, unfortunately, so I guess that doesn't make me cool anymore :( but those alternative posters do have a purpose, though they will probably never see publication.

For some reasons, I can't see Lucas and Absolut Vodka making an ad together. Kids and alcohol? Methink that would send the wrong message...though man, that would be one kick ass of a campaign: can you imagine other SW character posing like that, each with his/her own line.

Darth Maul would be Absolut brute Force
