Hey there. I really like your sketch of that old man's face on the first page. Try doing some hand and fist studies-- I think the hands you draw look a little rubbery when the grasp things.

Hi and hello! Thanks for your comment in my book! :)
I've watched all your cartoony characters and I like several ideas. The house design on the previous page was really sweet!
But about your illustration technique, I think you could really improve it. More than the lines it self (which is not always so good : proportion, volumes and anatomy issue) your coloring sometimes really brings the piece down! Maybe you should try to make some lighting and color studies, at the same time of developing your stylization work.
In my opinion the greatest cartoons are made by people who have already understood what you would call "classic drawing". You don't need to draw Mona Lisa to make good characters but, a little more of basics skills could only improve your work! :)
I hope my crit don't hurt you, it's not the goal! :)

The normals on all your 3D stuff look weird, the lighting and shading would look better if it was corrected.

You have a nice line here, and some very interesting characters.

I think you need to do some more lighting studies to be able to present your designs better. Do tons and tons of studies from reference to get it burned into your head how light and shadows works. I bet you will se great improvement quickly. :]

Some very solid improvement in this thread!

Though, I must say, you would improve much faster if you did more drawings from observation. For what is cartooning if not just simplified reality. And what better way to do it than to know everything before simplifying it. That way the simplifications become your own, and you fall into your won 'style'!

Nice range of character designs. Liked one of the last group of head studies, nice variety. I see the improvement too. I'd say keep developing the line quality of of the 2d designs and line intersection. Try to push the linework to describe the structure better.
Other things I'd be careful of: the plane the characters are standing on, check it to perspective maybe, also the photoshop airbrushing on cartoon characters is tricky and iffy for me (maybe just my taste) but I think your black and white are stronger. Look forward to seeing how it keeps developing, cheers!

Hey, some nice stuff. You seem to be on a good way with those 3D designs. At the same time I agree what the others wrote, you should study anatomy and draw from life to make your cartoony characters more believable. Also take a look at your facial expressions and the balance of the figures. Be careful with using blury brushes, it's difficult to find a good balance between hard and soft shapes. Keep it up and good luck with your game:)!!

I think you have a nice cartoon style. You should try to vary your linewidth. Right now most lines look the same. And perhaps use colored lines? I see that you have done that on a few drawings. Do you have access to any figure drawing classes?

whoa buddy this is cool. your digital paintings have come a long way. not sure if alot of people have told you this or not and i dont wanna sound redundant here but you should def practice anatomy more. you have a terrible knack of drawing people with only three fingers lol.
just try and force at least one anatomy study (a page full) everytime you go to draw stuff from imagination. andrew loomis' book figure drawing for all its worth its the best in my opinion. you definitely have the dedication though my friend and its inspiring. wish i could turn my painting into 3-d like you do.
