Seriously, this came out of nowhere...

God it reminds me of Edward D. Wood. Now all he needs to do is remake Glen or Glenda... In this case, Larry or Linda. hey at least this one made good movies.

I hope the painful surgeries dont take a toll on his creativity, I like their stuff.
Also Jeffrey jones also had a a sex change and became Jeffrey catherine jones.

It's the horomones and his therapist (supposedly) that might make him stop creating movies all together. But life is life, if it makes him happy....
It's kind of funny though. he supposedly became a girl to become a lesbian. I guess a lesbian truly is trapped in a mans body...

I was going to mention Jeff Jones, but bhanu beat me to it.
Its stories like this that make me think wtf, he likes woman obviously so why go through all the stress out getting rid of your wang and trying to be a girl, I just think it is stupid

This is more than a few years old, I'm surprised you hadn't heard of this until now.

Yes, old news.
And people don't snip off their weenie to become lesbians.
They do it because they genuinely feel like they are in the wrong body, i.e a woman forced to walk around in a man's body. Or a man in a woman's body. Some like men, others women. It's just the shell that's wrong.
Many suffer severe depressions and need years of therapy. This isn't something you decide to do on a whim because they suddenly go "gee, tits would be nice!"
I wish both Jones and Wachowski the best of luck in their personal lives from now on.

LAME THREAD
"omg wtf transsexuals"
MOre power to wachowski; this kind of thing is hard enough for a person to deal with without the knee-jerk freak-the-fuck-out reaction of people who don't or won't try to understand

the first reaction is wtf...
Not a homophobic thing but Jeffery Jones... its weird have this image of him as Ed Rooney from Ferris Buellers day off now that is ruined.
if they want to more power to them, we can joke and rip the piss but if he feels that he was born the wrong gender it must suck feeling that you don't belong in your body... even though it is a massive step to have gender reassignment.

I'm happy to see ppl in the "public eye" being open about that homosexuality and cross-gender issues (Ellen, for example). I know Larry wasn't exactly being "open" about it, but the fact that he sought reassignment surgery knowing that everyone would find out about it and think he was nuts for it was brave. Similarly, I'm glad movies like "Trans-America" and "Boys Don't Cry" are able to make mainstream cinemas and high-profile actor/actresses. It's amazing how Hollywood examples can really influence public perspective ;D

Came out of nowhere? He's been cited as a tranny-wannabe for ages, and it's long gone, still crazy though!

Orson Welles already perfected the deep focus shots during 1941:

Damn... I always knew the Wachowskis somehow borrowed the bullet-time technique from Citizen Kane!...

carnifex there is more than one Jeffery Jones,
Seba_boi maybe not Kane...lol
but anyone see Dark City http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_City_%281998_film%29
released a year before the matrix. alot of similarities not as flashy or with the guns and kungfu bits, but the whole constructed reality and mysterious agents...
also see Ghost in the shell and matrix comparsions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_in_the_Shell
not to mention lifting bits from a certain book about a girl and a rabbit hole
there was a site that had stills but was removed. don't get me wrong really like the matrix but it is not as ground breaking as some ppl may believe.

It was groundbreaking because it brought all of those little things to the mainstream forefront in a nice clean package.
I really haven't seen the Wachowski bros put out any good films since, honestly.

The think is that most people who do the gender change are genetically the wrong sex or null sex.. the have XX or YY or some other combo that makes them the wrong gender.
I have known 2 people one woman and one man that changed genders and it was not an easy thing for the time(were talking early to mid 80's).
If i remember one of the early 80's bond girl's turn out to be a trans-gender and from the photos in Playboy you would have never known.
some you can tell right off some its was like ok not you look like you should.
At most the doctors will not do the chenge unless they see it is the right thing to do but then Money will buy you anything in Hollywoodland(original name)
Ok now lets see some footage from the film i want to see if they used the Mach 5 from a few years back that one car designer made. It had everything working parts(but for the jacks they would not work if the car was moving )
a Friend had his picture taken in it and it look like the anime version from Mach Go go Go(again the original anime name) you should see the Japanese versions they are some what better in voice but they seem to have gotten the little brother's voice dead on.
So lets see some of the Speed racer stuff and move on from the other news ..
