Hey guys n gals. I haven't posted here in ages. But I always keep an eye on the forum. I've been working on some personal work in my spare time. This was inspired by a picture i took on the swedish west coast. Took about 6 hours.

Gorgeous work. I live by the ocean, too - and you got those rocks spot-on. Nice! :)

haha... when I looked at it I could swear the reference used was our coastline here in Southern China. :D
We've got a ton of rocky coast just like this.

i like it! The part where the rocks shadow the water and green rocks benieth are shining through is beautiful.
I'd make the area of the entrance sharper. The door is a bit fuzzy. Theres something about the lighting that could be very dramatic right there, but right now its not. I think stronger light, tightening things up (line of castshadow etc) around the entrance, and maybe make the light a bit warmer, having it reflect in an orange-ish tone on the shadowed rocks might be what is missing.
But stronger light around the entrance is probably the most important. my few cents!
Again, its beautiful and sends a powerful mood. good job!:D
EDIT: I made a paintover, cuz its fun and I never do. wanted to see if I could do any improvement. It kind of takes away the fresh, blue feeling that is part of what made the painting great, but... heres kind of what I was talking about:
