We are working on a mod project and are looking for talented concept artists for our team since our main concept artist have little time for working on the modification at the moment. We need a talented artist (preferrably more than one) who can help us with orthographic character concepts so our 3d modelers can start working on game assets. Here is a short description of our mod and the setting.
General info about the modification:
Trudvang is a mod project for Unreal Engine 3. It is an rpg mod based on one of the most popular swedish paper roleplaying games on the market. At the moment we are in concept and planning stage. We are working with the original game community to create a digital version of the roleplaying world that will be as close to the world described by Riotminds as possible. (we will not try to create a whole world, I mean more like the setting and environments) So there is a lot of knowledge and a lot of artistical talent in the team already.
We also have some members of the development team with previous experience from the game industry. We have permission from the company behind the original game to create a mod based on their game world. At the moment our focus is on planning and concepts, we will then focus on creating a playable demo. This will later be shown to the community so everyone will get an idea of what we are trying to make. Also this will work as a test for us to see how well we can work together as a team.

Game world info:
Trudvang is a fantasy world very much influenced by ancient nordic mythology, tales and legends. It is a dark world where the powers of nature are greater than men, elves and dwarves. In the darkness of the deep forests ancient secets lie hidden under moss covered rocks, great treasures lie hidden in the cold water of the forest lakes.
Trolls hide in the shadows as frightened animals during the daytime, but in the night, when the sun goes down and the night comes they leave their hiding places. Hear the sound of an owl in the distance. Behind a big rock you think you hear the sound of branches breaking, and in the dark of the night you are almost sure you can see yellow eyes watching every step you take from a distance...
Trudvang is a world filled with great mystery and legends, it is a dark setting where you always have the feeling that you are not quite safe. You are only a small character in a greater story but you can and must make a difference anyway.
We are inspired by the works of John Bauer, the finish national epos Kalevala, the beowulf legends but most of all ancient nordic mythology and legends.

Applicants should have:
+ Strong portfolio of previous work
+ Ability to draw orthographic sketches (front / side / back)
+ Digital coloring skills
+ Be able to work in a team
At the moment we are first looking for talented character designers but we are also in need of good environment artists.
Since this is a mod project we will not be able to pay you for your work. Everyone works for free bacause they are intrested and want to create something great. But if you are intrested in working on a project that is fun and want to practice on your skills this is something for you. If you are building a portfolio this is also a chance to create some good portfolio material
