Here's the bare sketch of something I worked on today. Gotta add more to it (hair, face, etc.) and change a couple of things that are botheirng me, but here's the basic idea.

Plan to complete it using photoshop, i'll keep you guys updated.

The sketch has more charm than the colored version. Seems that you positioned the mouth too low.

i actually like the colored better. you've fixed/covered up some of the anatomy/proportion problems. you still gotta work on the hands..iffy
if that's an eye-covering thing, it's too high to actually cover the socket
and yeah, the mouth does look too low
and the right foot (our left) looks too high up. i think that perspective-wise, it ought to be further forward than the other foot, and therefore lower. again, working on the anatomy might help this problem
but hey, i'm a sucker for pirates. i see the movie has inspired you as well. that hair is looking good so far.

Thanks for the responses. Might go back and rework the initial sketch before I go on with the coloring. Appreaciate the feedback

hi there- cute pirate- looks like a good start!

you might want to check up on your value grouping & contrast though- that way you can really decide where you want your focal point to be.

ie. if you want the focus to be on the face, try darkening his white shirt because right now, that's the first place my eye goes.

Well, redid it entirely and came out with this. It's not inked yet, don't have time to do so. But I think it looks better then the first. Let me know what you guys think.

i'm tellin you, the right leg!!!
and i dunno, something about the bumpy coat is bothering me. and the way the arm bends. I'd honestly recommend fixing those kind of things in the main sketch, or you'll hate yourself for it later
