Being at peace with one's self is really helpful, you just need to be absorbed and concentrated on the drawing. To help this, you should trace a short line-after short line and your precision will improve, slowly but surely. Also try drawing straight lines a lot, too using a slow but steady stroke. I don't know if I explained it correctly, but I hope it helps.

Yeah that makes sense, i draw lots of parrelel lines for practice and i can usually get them rigtht on bu when i go to ink something it seems to always come out sketchy and not precise....

one other thing I've learnt is turn your drawing around. Rotating the drawing in order to give it a strong precise line that your wrist is more fit for doing. (this is one of the reasons why animators have a spinning DISC on which they can draw / clean on)

I always rotate my sketchbook when drawing vertical lines. I've always thought I was cheating..

Lol, yeah ill have to make that a habit to flip or mirror a sketch....i guess good lines comes with time, it just amazes me that some people have such perfect lines in freehand. like pro concept artists like hawk, feng, spinefinger etc....
