I'm one of what seems to be the minority who actually really liked Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk, and am looking forward to the sequel. Tim Roth and Ed Norton toe to toe, what's not to like?
Most of the superhero movies out there dispense with everything but the most flimsy, superficial character development, and focus almost solely on action. It was refreshing to see a movie that went a bit deeper, and sad to see it dragged through the dirt for this.

Edward Norton speaking eloquently about his part in the movie.

Edward Norton is the essence of a bad-ass. I'll be looking out for this movie. :rendered:

i was one of the people who also liked ang lee's hulk........ is this new movie would continue the previous ones, or it's a stand alone?

Yess it looks good,
on a aside note, I think that Liv tyler just went to the top of my most beautiful list. I mean Alba and Biel are hot, but Tyler is just fucking staggeringly beautiful. She belongs on some other world or something. I dont think shes even the same species as me.

Wasn't a huge fan of the first one, but I'm really excited about this one: top notch actors with what seems to have the right execution behind it. I mean Ed Norton AND Tim Roth... sweeeeeeet giddy!

By the way, if you watch the second clip, this is the beginning of a whole new Hulk saga, not following Ang Lee's -

It's a shame that the one character they did that with is the character whose sole purpose is to break shit.

I lol'd
and it's true, too, at the end of the day, no matter what sort of emotion they add...there'll be a "hulk go mad" scene with a copious amount of cg

Norton's a flimsy wimp of an egghead. What a let down.
All the actors were fine in Ang Lee's, except maybe the girlfriend which was just a bit too bad an actor to ring true with the rest of the characters' performances. The first Hulk would've been a good starting point for a lot of more gratuitous action, the same way it's been for a lot of trilogies, or the same way the last Superman seemed to be have been intended to be.
But Norton as Hulk? Why not Seth Green or the Transformers kid?? Norton's got as much Hulkish angst and brawn as a French camembert's putrid smell. He's better suited to roles like the gimp in Cunningham's video for Aphex Twin's Afx237 V7 or the limp wristed whiner of a ragdoll puppet he played in Fight Club.

Funkshion: Because they want _actors_, not top models who can't act shit. Just look at the Transformers kid...

Yes, so you get a top model who can't act for shit but whose personality coincides with the Banner/Hulk's. Bana was close enough, or at least a lot better than Norton. Surely there's someone out there who would match this criteria... It's not like this role is intellectualy intensive.

Norton would kick the crap out of Banner ala american history X... Have you not seen how menacing he can become, the man can 'act!'
He can do the subtle stuff aswell. I liked banner but the rest of Ang's film was a mess. It would be wierd restarting but using the same actor as he was the only good thing in it.

funk---dude have you read the comic books?
...bruce banner..is a limp wristed nerd. and a brilliant limp wristed nerd at that, what are you saying---not intellectual? Thats kind of the whole purpose of the comic book. The duality of man and what not.
Edward norton is a pretty strong actor. probably one of my favorites, actually. he's got a pretty large range, and he can play a pretty ruthless dude (American History X), but can also be pretty funny too (Death To Smoochie)...SO, I mean..I think he can probably tackle a role like Bruce Banner.
Also, Jennifer Connelly (the girlfriend you mentioned) is also a really talented oscar winning actress as well. I don't think it was really so much the fact that she gave a crappy performance, as EVERYONE in that movie gave a crappy performance. The movie itself gave a crappy performance. You can't polish a turd, you know? So I mean, everyone in that movie could really only work with what they had, which was a sub-par adaptation of a comic book that...well, really shouldn't have been as bad as it was.
I really think that based on what they've shown this point and the cast they've gathered that this movie is going to be the movie they should have released initially.

First off, I'm one of those that really liked the first Hulk. And TO ME ('cause, that's all it is about, since it's a movie, like music, or art) Eric Bana did a good job playing the role, if i had to compare it to the series. Now to the comic book itself, I dont know, since i don't have the original comic in my hands...

No ! It would fit as another version, but not replace it.
Now, i'll see what it looks like and if i don't like it, i don't like it. End of the story.

Call me slightly skeptical here and maybe it's because I've been tainted by the Ang Lee Hulk (to which I thought was okay at best), but I want a killer story first. I want the screenplay to be killer. I want the storyline so good you could practically put unknowns into those roles and make them movies stars after this picture. Sure name recognition such as Ed Norton helps sell it initially but it still has to stand the test of us comic book geeks long before it stands a chance with the general public.
Storyline first, good sense of direction next, editing, special effects and acting somewhere to follow.
Look at how simple a movie like Star Wars worked eons ago. The only biggies in that were Cushing & Guiness. Another example is why Pixar kicks everyone else's butt- they spend an ungodly amount of time refining the stories long before they even animate it.
Money on the story first... long before the gamma rays hit Bruce Banner.

The best part is that Marco Djurdjevic is doing some of the art (at least the posters) for it!

I also liked Ang Lee's Hulk, the action scenes that were there were incredible, the new hulk looks pretty cool.
