I recently reread Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen by Garth Nix, and was looking around for any art that people may have done from the series. I couldn't find any, but I am really inspired to do some drawings from the series. Not fanart, merely depicting scenes from the books.
I looked at the reference section but couldn't find anything of use, a quick search of then net also yields nothing useful.
I need reference photos of females with swords, in action and at ease poses.
I need them in basic clothing, trousers and jacket or whatever as I'm going to change the clothes but need a base for the creases etc.
I think this will be a good exercise in drawing people, copying from ref and changing them to my own designs. I really want some ref, the books are so inspiring.

Well.... that's pretty specific :/ I think what you should be foccussed on is getting a ref of the pose you want, a ref of the clothes you want and using both refs.
This site (http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/)is great for all sorts of medieval clothing and weapons and such. Why no nudes? You MIGHT find a decent pose on posemaniacs.com

That's the thing, I can't find the pose I need anywhere, I'll do a more thorough search later. No nudes because I'm too young (nearly 15).

Hmmm... well, if you're stuck you could always take a pic of yourself to get the basic pose down, but then draw over the character you'd like based on the clothing reference you get

It really is best to get yourself a cheap camera and shoot it yourself. Best that way for many, many reasons.

Something you'll have to learn as an artist is how to get your reference. the best thing to do is dress up and photograph yourself or a friend holding a broomstick. it's always an option to hire a model. but many pros use themselves or their spouses or family.
lol Dave you said it better before your edit

Just tossing you some links to some stock photographers. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to weed the nudity ones out, but most DA stock artists will put their nudes under a Mature Filter, which will block the image automatically. If you don't have a DA account, you won't see them at all.

Good resource to have at your disposal. :) Though I think your case it would definitely be easier to just shoot your own photos. However if you ever need more reference images, these could provide some inspiration.

Thanks for those links, I'll check them out sometime, I checked the reference section again and found a decent photo, so have been using that. For other (male) characters from the series, I will do some of my own photos.
