View Full Version : I'm I the only one who disable the strips on my Wacom?

Don't get me wrong, the touch strip feature on the Intuos 3 is nice, but they are so annoying because they are too much on the way of my hands and I always accidentally touch them. I tried to bond them to other functions other than zooming but I ended up causing more trouble than usefulness. Sometime I try to think what if they were placed more above the tablet and then I realize they would be too much out of hands.

I absolutely hated those things when i first got mine. I've gotten used to avoiding them, and they can be handy once you get the feel for them, but occasionally my flow will still be broken by an unexpected zoom when I go for something in the upper right corner of the screen.
EDIT: Just had the brilliant idea of going into the Wacom control panel and disabling just the right touch strip. Problem solved!

That's what I did right off the bat after I discovered how annoying unintentioned zooming was XD. I find the left one quite useful at times when I want to zoom without switching tools. Very handy on Google earth too.

I don't see what the problem is with them. I definitely never accidentally press them.
I haven't found much use for the right set of buttons, though, due to the low customizability (why is this word not in the dictionary? It should be). It think this is something that needs to be addressed in future drivers.

I did the same as elwell... I like the left one, I disabled the right one which I continually hit by accident

I haven't programmed any of them on mine to be honest! I'm not really 100% sure of where I'm supposed to do it! Lol. :teeth:

I am trying something new with the strips.

There is an option that allow the strip to only accept the Wacom pen to be active. I binded the left strip with the [ and ] key, which affect the stroke size in Photoshop.

Chermilla: if you have a mac you can access it via the mac accessories (should be at the bottom under other (or something like that)). I think you can find the tablet options under the start menu/programs on Windows.

all i really have set is undo/redo and max window.

hah! vice versa,
actually I disabled both. Being left handed the left side gets in the way, the right one also affects me sometimes, how the hell does that happen? :S

I disable all of them, I keep my left hand on the keyboard where I have all my shortcuts.
