haha welcome back, the most important thing is your continued process of drawing. As long as the pencil is moving and your really trying to understand your subject matter from life or your head, thats all that matters. :) Life is unpredictable and we as people just have to adjust to the situations thrown in front of us. Its good to see you posting again, and I hope all is well.

I like your quick portraits, but I believe what would strengthen your portraits would be to fallow the form of the structure of the head. I would suggest doing these with your longer studies depending on what your trying to capture. With the longer studies the purpose would be to capture 3dimsionality and value, I think your quick drawings are a great way of learning, but do mix it up and do longer studies, ones, with this combination you'll be better off. Keep it up,

Hey man, nice drawings with loose lines and good rendering.
Good you didn't give up on art! When there's crap coming your way, art will generally be some kind of relief, something that takes your mind off all the worries. Atleast it does that for me:P
Well good to have you back on CA I guess. Keep it up.;)

Darktwin: Thanks! You're right about structure, I'm only just learning to do faces and potraits. Actually, these are my first ones. I'm diving in the books to try and learn a thing or two about portraits and faces.

Flameseeker; Bedankt. I try to really be as loose as possible. In my previous reincarnation on this forum I sometimes referred to myself as 'captain Renderman'; because I focussed far too much on rendering & style.

Here's a few I did this weekend:

Dabaers Dank je! I try to work in charcoal sometimes, but not much success up till now. I'm still trying to figure out which material (besides oil paint) suits me best.

Kuroart Thanks...

Here's one I finished today; still tons of things wrong with it, but I'm still pleased with the progress I'm making... The scan isn't too good, difficult colors to scan right.....
