Wow, incredible artwork. Definitely 5 star worthy (and I don't write that unless I mean it). Please, if you are ever bored and have nothing better to do, I would love to see a step by step walkthrough of your figure drawing procedure like the ones you've done here. That is the sort of drawing I want to be able to do, like what you've done with those.

Hey sup 'mazing Maisie xD, that's really awesome color scheme on the last painting. Love the Macbeth and Seyton too, is that Khang's class? Oh man, all the things I'm missing out on @_____@(including the misery I guess, but it's really miserable here too)

Medelo
February 20th, 2012, 04:04 PM
Hey Aaron! Nah the last painting is khang's, macbeth is Mauricio's, I'm doing an alien creature for rob McKinnon and for Bill's we have to make lots of compositions. Perspective is actually the easiest class this term, believe it or not. You should ask Ben for some of his stuff, he's seriously tearing it up this term. He made a maquette for rob and it almost killed him trying to finish haha

We all miss you here, you need to come back!

This term is particularly challenging because I have to switch genres and styles every single day. Here's part of my alien horror project, a process panel WIP. They all need so much work still :(

Thanks for visiting my SB, really like some of the paintings here. The gesture page up above also has some really good action and motion in the figures.

Thank you, everyone!

I'm so happy that the game I've been freelancing on is finally out. It's a hidden object game called Blackwood and Bell Mysteries and is released by Disney-Playdom. :)

I worked on a few of the background scenes and I'm so excited that the very first scene you get in the game was my work! Before you ask, I did have to paint those dirty water puddles. :D

Your work's fantastic! Subscribed! :D Care to share any practices they make you do in school to improve yourself? I'm really keen on doing traditional especially oils but really have no idea how to start!

Oh gosh, that Alien project looks so good, how the fuck did you light it like that? You are totally rocking it Maisie!

Haha, never got a chance to say that I've always really looked up to you in the past two years. It makes me feel like a lazy bum to think of how far along you've come. Well, I mean, none of us did work particularly hard at first, but you are definitely the hardest working of us all. And it definitely shows.

Hope you are doing well with the migraines and exhaustion. I would definitely be very proud to have done those beautiful works.

Say hi to Vince as well. I hope he's doing good? Still making obvious people's already obviously disproportionate chins?

Edit:Totally missed your post back there. Ahhh if only I can go back, wishes.......

Medelo
March 8th, 2012, 05:37 AM
@Nerferin: Thank you :) Hmm, painting in oils... I would honestly just get out some paint and brushes and have at it, there's no better way to learn than to try. I would recommend painting with black/white only first or raw umber/white. Then when you're comfortable you can move into color.

@aaron: Thanks man. You worked pretty hard yourself, don't forget that whole stack of cheap colorful office paper haha... tbh I was just so eager to learn everything that I could. And I've been a total slacker this term so yeah. I started getting really interested in Jungian psychology and i've been researching symbolism and archetypes. I know right? Totally wtf, but it's fascinating to me. I'd say Ben's really picking up the pace now though. He suddenly realized he only has one year left to look for a job :P He's sculpting this (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-79PMZJjT_YI/TzJUz_NgDuI/AAAAAAAAASg/vJvwc2M-XqQ/s1600/frank+4.jpg), it's fucking hilarious. Also Vince is in Florida doing caricatures for a couple festivals down there. He's doing good. :) Our plan for break sketching is to try and camp at a Walmart to draw all the wackos there <__<

As for the work... there's so much left to do. Must be where all the headaches are coming from. IT'S NOT BEAUTIFUL ENOUGH YET

@ezekrialase: Thanks!

@Walkien: Thank you. :) I plan on working more on it.

@Muz: Many thanks. I'm trying my best.

Sadly I don't have much to show as it's nearing the end of term and I'm ready to die from stress. So have some more boring quick sketch lighting studies. 10-30mins

Aaron_
March 9th, 2012, 01:09 AM
Wow preeeetty colors! Love how loose it is, I suppose this is Ron's? Can't wait for the final projects! I await to be blinded by glories.

Jungian psychology aye? Haha, funny how I've been studying Sartre and Freudian psychology recently, we might all turn into crazy brain-wankers at the end of this @____@. That Ben thing is fucking AWESOME, it's so totally Ben. And man, thanks for reminding me, I've total forgot about about cheap office green papers. Good memories. And Ben's sketchbook full of weird fucking creatures and your notebook with all the psycho-clean writing ^____^.

And Food for Less might be a better option than walmart, that is, if you're interested in the more fragrant side of humanity >___>.

Edit:Umm..hahaha, I don't mean to cause stress of course, but you know, I'm probably gonna be stunned no matter what you do. Whatever

Some studies in line and form.

Also macbeth painting that I'm not happy with at all, and a style exercise that was really hard to do for me since I don't normally do something so flat and graphic. :(

Kind of in a rut lately, I don't like anything I do at all.

Hey everyone.

Seaport: Thanks!
Jay-Zii: hehe thanks, I was having a particularly good day that day :)
Yor: Aye well b/w is always easy, it's color that sucks....
Jacky-Boy: Thank you. For me, I found it helped to have an organized plan of study, maybe I'm too logical, but I just need structure to improve faster.
liquorbleu: Thank you :) I'm so honored you visited the blog! I usually just throw random mind musings and ramblings there so I thought no one would ever really read that stuff.
