Hello to all of the artists at this forum, my name is Victor Salas and this is now one of my major sources of inspiration (and of major humbling).
I have a question, has anybody ever attended the Art Institutes, I'm debating on whether I should go or not...any bad or good experiences? Well, thanks in advanced!

THe last time I went to check one out, was like 2-3 yrs. ago, and boy did the school suck. I was comparing it to Art Center, cuz thats where I was planning to go. I've heard that they are better, but I dont know "how" good they really are.

I say you go out and visit one of them, check em out for yourself!

I.was.ink, thanks for your input; yeah i've gone to the building, students gave a "what the hell are you doing here" look. I wishfully thought that the education would compensate for the crappy tv station building and whatnot, but from what I have been reading (thanks to conceptart.org and elwell; couldn't find all of this in google), I'm going to steer clear from AI and stick to the local university I'm enrolled at. Thanks again everybody!

i went to the one here in chicago. i recommend going to a school that has a good rep. i wasn't too happy with the Art Institue myself. if you are pretty disciplined you can learn a lot on your own. however if you're not...find a school with a really good reputation and research their instructors.

thanks keyth; yeah i've read lots of rants against the art institutes in general, so i'm staying way clear out of those institutions, learning on my own and from the local college i'm in. now the problem is to evade those mofo "car dealer" art institute advisors!
