The only house on the street where steps lead up to the door, with steps again leading down directly behind it. Those steps go down into hell, as the house itself is a portal into the deepest pits of the underworld. During the day, the house looks like an old abandoned shack, but in the dark of night, it is a beacon of hellish flame. Every month, the "neighbor" comes up and "visits" one of the people living nearby as a sacrifice to keep the portal open. Soon, the house will be a staging point for a full demonic invasion. He is only seen by his victims.

Mr Johnson lives on the 5th floor. He used to be a surgeon. Now he hardly speaks to anyone...After he was blamed for the death of that little girl he lost his job.
One night, two years ago, the sound of a gunshot came out of his apartment...People thought he shot himself- a lonely man like him...
But next day they saw him entering the building like if nothing happened.
Only his shadow tells of the horrible tragedy that happened. Some who looked closely saw a big hole where his head was..

After being kept up all night by the wiiierd noises nextdoor Bob decides enough is enough-he's gonna go round there, and give that inconsiderate assmucher a piece of his mind-some people have to work in the morning damnit!!!!@*.
Suffice to say-Bob kinda wishes he'd kept his godam mouth shut

voted for grim becouse i love these colours, so bright and vibrant, which are more associated with bright cheerfull things rather than horror, and yet you've been able to capture that butcher surgeon/dentist atmosphere(probably the most frightening of scenarios as a child).

I really like ChaoticKnight's entry, but I went with Grim Reaper. I was wondering why the shadow had a hole in it, after reading the story a small chill went down my spine. I like Manuel_Calavera's entry as well and daveneale has some nice colors. :)

I'll get the new topic ready this afternoon. I'm just so bloody knackered after work in the moment...I hate old people!:)

I voted more towards what struck a cord with me not so much with a critical eye
grenogs: I like the reflection but perhaps too subtle and small.
ChaoticKnight: beautiful artwork but your demon conjured up memories of hours of Duke Nukem.:)
Grim Reaper: I like the shadow. spooky old guy. I guess just too cheery and light for my kind of nightmare.
:) don't worry about the old people just wait they'll all die and then you can start hating the young ignorant little whipper snappers, that will take their place.:)

Manuel_Calavera: I would have voted for yours, it sends a shiver down my spine, but no description. could have been as simple as where is mommy?:)
daveneale: Sorry, not my first choice but, you did leave enough for the imagination to conjure up a good nightmare. You have my vote. :) I am sure Bob will learn to keep his mouth shut, if there is a next time.

what? they recycle old people? sounds like that film with charlton hestin is in, in the future where they recycle old people into green biscuit type food. only instead of turning them into food, they just turn them back into old people. Omg! no wonder pensions are in such a crises, old people get recycled into more old people, and the middle aged people are also becoming old, omg, soon 90% of the worlds population will be old people. nooooooooooooooooo

Grenogs have some respect for old people:)Although it sometimes feels like it I assure you that once they're dead they don't get up no more. At least physically.

i have plenty of respect for old people, one day soon i may become one.
But to your comment about the dead not getting up, well it's a known fact that they do, plus i have a friend who used to work for an undertaker, and well he begs to differ, got something to do with the build up of gasses, and the muscle tendons shortening. But he swears to me their nothing like in the dawn of the dead films. However if christianity is correct, then we surely will see them up and about one day.:)

Daveneale: by a mile. The image itself was enough to send chills up my spine. Very Mothman-esque. It's one of those things that the more I look at it, the more wild my imagination runs and my imagination and a quite apartment in the middle of the night are NOT a good combination. Thank you.

Grenogs: you were my second, mate. Heavy shadows and wheel chairs only lead to again another wild imagination party. Thanks for the creepy feeling.
