After stumbling apon conceptart.org by accident ive turned into a "Andrew Jones" junkie so to speak... never bothered to post before but ive been checking Androids portraits daily for about 2 months now. (its amazing to see the same face in a new light every day) I dont know if you realized what your doing, but i think im not alone in saying your work has inspired me to pick up a pencil and paper and try to draw again. I am simply amazed how you can turn out an original peice day after day. Especially considering you have a limited time with work and a social life i presume. I hope you can die happy some day knowing that you have had a major impact on the lives of others. Thanks Andrew. (Sorry if that sounded cheezy).

Simply nice and comfortable. I like your "swimming" edges. The color scheme works well. Comfortable and quiet.

Great work again, of course. I especially like how you didn't cheat on the eyes, even though they're in shadow. It's a subtle thing, but it makes a difference.
BTW Andrew, I didn't know until yesterday that you're working on Metroid Prime. I was skeptical about a 1st-person Metroid game until I played it at E3, and it totally kicked ass! Metroid Prime and Zelda are the games that are going to make me buy a Gamecube.

Quite a contrast to yesterday's piece. Funny what a few hours and some sleep can do to your perspective and mood, huh?
This piece is a classic example of the true painterly effects one can get digitally with Painter. Seen it before from you over and over again, but it never ceases to amaze me.
Would you mind telling us the exact brushes and/or tools you used for this particular portrait Andrew? This classic look is something I would very much like to achieve and would like to know how you go about it. Thanks!

Keaton- thank you for your words. There is no greater honor as an artist than to know you are inspiring more artists around you. you would be suprised what you can acomplish when you have such a great comunity of artists behind you. I had been in a artistic daze for about a year before I started this. I have to say this this has become by far the mosrt rewarding artistic endeavor I have ever embarked on . I could die tomorrow and die happy.
Killing, halloween? I better start making my costume,
Jaku- thanks to gain control you must first loose it.
Nordstrand, T- thanks , I must say that your latest portraits have been absoutlely amazing. I think they get better every day. I hope you have a good trip to north america. I will look forward to you r portraits to see the influence of your travels
noon thirty- thanks, eyes do make all the difference, yea I work on that metroid* game, If you liked what you saw at E3 you wont be dissipointed with the final product.
Smeagol - sometimes iI feel like a diferent person every time I work up, lets just say I worked out alot of stuff inbetween these poirtraits, I started off using the seargant brush to block in the shapes then a littke dry ink brush to lay down some edges and I used chalk tool for the smaller details, and grainy water to blend some of my edges., but its not the tools that I think give it a classic appearance the technique was the same as if I would have used real oils.
Ruby- cool, Pickmin was my favorite game last year, and this year too. I cant wait to get your reactions from the game
Thanks everyone. see you later tonight

very pretty, i'm envious of how you can so easily blurred the hair into the face. My portraits seem to be very crisp and sharp, which isn't bad but i would like to experiment more with different emotions by making my pictures alittle more "dreamlike".
Great as always.

Where is the daily?
*hits Refresh a couple a times*
Hmm... wait, wait... Thanks for the kind comments, Andrew, the portrait sessions in the sub-forum are terrific practice, and it all started with your efforts. I too see improvement, and it's only been two weeks! I plan on visiting a lot of galleries along the east coast, and will make sure the influence sticks. I promise to check in to see how you're all doing from time to time. Keep on spreading the waves, Andrew...
