Behind The Gate

Hi all,

Started with concept on paper. Colored in photoshop with Wacom Graphire. Original resolution is 4500x6000 pixels.

It's easy to get the key, but what is waiting behind the gate!?

i like the coloring esence of the entire composition,,, the shapes and also the feeling of the image>>

I would add some redder reds to the hair to make it a little more vivid and colorful. Good work on the light source. It looks like there's a brighter more yellowish light source off screen on the left hand side, and a whiter, more scattered light coming from roughly the area where the viewer would be. Studying the image definitely makes me think about where the light is coming from.

How close is she to the arch?

If she is a few steps away, then the key is huge. If she is right next to the arch, then it is floating in mid-air.

It seems that she is closer to it in the top half of the picture and further away in the bottom half.

I think the problem is at the begining. I have started just with the head and then I found she can be cute and I like to give her some story. First moments of thinking about the key was that the key is just a some kind of fiction or dream. Cause there are no really door to open. Yea and maybe the realization is little out. I hope the next will be really better.
