here's my crap, tell me watcha' think.
I have to say that lukais and rusty have been big inspirations to me lately, there is much more talent on this board but I don't think i'm insulting anyone by saying that they have awe-inspiring skills. http://www.kempart.com/Arwork%20popups/figure%20samples1.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%20popups/k-sketch2.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%20popups/k-sketch3.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%20popups/k-sketch4.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%popups/k-sketch5.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%20popups/k-sketch6.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%20popups/k-sketch8.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%20popups/k-sketch9.jpg http://www.kempart.com/Artwork%20popups/sketch-book2.jpg

you have a pretty solid understanding of basic anatomical structure! the biggest thing i'm noticing though, is that all the figures are very stiff and stone-like. Thats a good thing to be able to do, but you should also try and master the other end too, by applying your knowledge of anatomy in a more delicate and graceful manner. Da Vinci wrote that the most graceful figures are the ones where you can only really see the muscles that are in use- in other words: its not showing a delicate understanding of anatomy if a figure is standing perfectly still, but their whole body is made up of geometric forms produced by taut muscles. I know you have your own personal style, but you can never diversify too much.

thanks Lim and McLean,

You are very right about the figures, i'm still trying to loosen them up. DaVinci's a great resource

I don't really know what's going on with this thread, somehow it's a copy of when i started it a year ago...
