Hey everyone, I'm an 18-year-old heading off to college in a month to study engineering physics, but art is awesome too. I'm just getting into drawing and digital painting. Here's some random stuff.
Eiru is the name of a planet I contrived, for the purpose of writing a science fiction novel which, sadly, died before it was born. I'll probably draw some stuff from the various lore and legendia of it at some point and post it up here.
The giant robot legs in the forest one is a WIP, I will be returning to that one soon.
Extensive use of vyle's rock brush, a rather convenient tool, in the last one. And the leaf sprig brush in the forest one. Man, he makes some nice brushes.

Some cool stuff here.
One thing I noticed: Your rivers are always just bright. That works for a bright sky (cause this is what the river is reflecting) but not for your night scene or the forest. Try to outline them more clearly and draw what they would actually reflect.
Keep on going!

Here's a quickie using Scott Robertson's technique from "Creating Unique Environments." Works well, gets some great textures and shapes going on. About the composition, it seems a little unbalanced; my eye is drawn to the engine flare the most, whereas it should be the cockpit/pilot. Any ideas there? Or other ways to balance the composition?
And a greyscale WIP. Figured I should work on my illustration skills before I tackle color theory.

and one more super-loose one with that method.

Hey Orori,
Great sketches - pleasantly loose and expressive. Maybe the forms could be a bit more distinguished. Your most recent one is rather interesting - awesome textures. Keep up the good work. :)

Koh - Thanks man, means a lot.
throtailer - I'm working on the abstractness as I figure out how to visualize forms more clearly. And good point about the shading, I'll work on that.
Neon - Excellent point, didn't think about that.
Ninetales - Thanks a lot. Distinguishing forms is definitely on my list of stuff to work on.
