Just wanted to share this, my wife found this link to get a sweet deal on a Graphire tablet.

http://slickdeals.net/?permadeal=10050#direct_deal_10050

Circuit City has Wacom Graphire 4 4"x5" tablet with pen and mouse for $100 - $50 rebate [or online, program id PAKBD] = $50. In-store pickup is free, otherwise shipping is $4. Lowest on PriceGrabber is $85. Thanks Holli

Are these graphires any good though? I've been thinking about getting a tablet, but I've been reticent about spending $300 on an Intuos since I might not use it a ton. I want a tablet to play around with and I'll be by CC tonight anyway, so if anyone can give me a recommendation for a hobbyist, I'd appreciate it.

I have a graphire 6 x 8 at home and it works well for me. I used to have a 4 x 5 at work and it killed my hand. It's just to small for my tastes.

I've got 2 versions of the Graphire, the 2 & the 4. And I really like the four. Nice pen, easy to use, and decent software that comes with the bundle. The Graphire is the cheapest of all the Wacom tablets, and it works well for me. As for the more expensive ones, they have a lot more features, and often times have smoother feels. Then you have the Centiq which is just AMAZING to use.....if you happen to have $2500 lying around.

proj235: Even if you're just looking to try one out, you can't beat this deal on the Graphire.

Pritch: I've got the 4x5, and I took to it pretty quickly. Though I haven't had much experience using anything bigger, other than the Centiq.
