Hahaha@ the stroller.
Yea JAG, thanks man. I swapped a late model 5 speed manual for the overdrive in it, and had big plans for a single turbo with a forged stroker. Car was hit by some idiot yapping on her phone, that was the end of that. I'm sure you've seen BULLITT right? Pretty sure that was a 69 charger, what a beast that thing is.
1969 far and away has the most aggressive profile of any mustang ever built and if not for my obvious bias towards the 65's the 69 is the next in line for me without question.

for me its a time when they redesigned the bodywork of the ford shelby mustang and gave it more horsepower than a horse on steroids...(for the time)...but they are just generaly beutifull cars certain years are good for wine ..the 60's were good for cars :)

For me, it was the looks and equally important was the sound. You should go to a drag strip, or a car show and listen to these things sometime. There is no need for a stereo with a v8 and dual exhaust.
Plus they are easy to work on, and I like to play with tools so it's a no brainer.
Also because you can't do stuff like this in a camry.

Those aren't bad cars by any standards, very much attainable by many middle class people
dream cars are typically not attainable unless you're extremely rich and well connected.

Nostalgia;
most people who have classic cars now grew up during that era [50s~60s] looking at cool hip cars of the day out of their parent's cars; or were kids just getting their first car, probably a cheap one they fixed up with their dad.
Muscle cars usually handle poorly when it comes to curves; but kicks pretty much anything out of the water on the 1/4 mile, then and many times now.
Plus, there's no debate that the rumbling of a V8 rolling down the street will turn heads where a puttering 4 cylinder riced up import mostly invites ridicule.

heh indeed :)
JUSTIN: the 60s [ask any car guy] was the decade when automotive world reached its prime [in a sense]. the cars got better, faster, more powerful, better styled, more aggressive.. racing, both local and world wide, was booming.. gas prices??? bwuahahaha what a joke!
and it spilled over JUST a bit into the early 70s. then, the party was over and very short lived. gas price went up, economy went down, stricter govt. regulations on pollution and exhaust and thats it.. partys over.
for the few lucky bastards that were there to live it, it was qute a time.. the 'good old days'.
so trying to get your hands on ofe these beauties from that time is like buying a piece of history.
only until recently have cars begun to climb up out of the hole again and conquer the performance field once again.. but this time with technology and intelligence, rather than blatant size and strength. its still pretty young, but give it time.
however any new car, no matter how bad ass and innovative, just wonthave that CLASSIC style that the muscles cars had..
BOBMARLEY: shame about the stang man.. but it figures some cell phone douche bag would ruin it. no reason we couldnt team up to buy and build another one though ;) - JAG

I swear to god that around this town on the back roads there is an old station wagon with monster truck risers and about 3'-4' wheels on it. It is never used, parked in the same spot constantly. Our school bus passed it every day.

haha yay dream carz. always see alot of old school muscel on these lists. my old room mate after high school had 2 69 mustang mach1s and a 70 something road runner. his main 69 had a huge engine first time i even went 165 in a car. but other then that it wasent that cool to ride in. all you could here in it was engine and supper loud fuel pump. so im more on the cruising side.

My neighbour, a bastard really, has this standing outside his garage. It's rusty, and it has four flat tires. And I have to look at it every god. damned. morning. when I go to the bus.

Seriously, four flat tires, rusty, and I don't think the engine is there either. I don't know whether to shoot it and put it out of it's misery, or steal it and save it.

Speed is for pussies! :)
What y'all need is a house on wheels, like my big orange bus. 0-60 in half an hour. Cooker, Fridge and a well-stocked wine rack. This is the one i've got...
http://www.duddlebug.com/forums_2007/duddlebus.jpg
And this is the one i want...
http://www.duddlebug.com/forums_2007/wantbus.jpg
But i'd have to keep the orange one too, three years ago my daughter was conceived in it, it's a family heirloom!! And she loves 'driving it'. We've been to France, the Moon and Timbuktu in the last month alone, and it's 'off the road for welding'.
http://www.duddlebug.com/forums_2007/daisybus.jpg
And, Aly... Love the hearse, get that sheet off it and get it on the road! If you put a cooker and a bed in it you can come camping... >:D

I was raised a Ferrari person, although I've got a liking to the Lamborghini Murcielago. But the Pagani Zonda pretty much takes my breath away:

Meh, I don't loke the Zondas too much, they're just... a little too over the top crazy styling for me.
And that Bristol Fighter T is really cool, but over a thousand HPs? I mean the Bugatti Veyron did it, but that one does not look like it's built to go over 400 km/h!
Oh and another Aston.... drooooool...... Man I like a lot of different types of cars, but if I could pick one car, ANY ONE car in the world to own, it would be an Aston. That DBS is just pure sex, pure design perfection.

I know how you feel about an Aston, that's why I posted it, so you can imagine my surprise when what do I spot on my way to work this morning? An Aston, oh yeah. pretty sure it was a Vanquish though, not a DBS. It was whizzing by me and I didn't get to admire much, but hey.
