I would really like to know what type of a pen/pencil this is in the picture below. It may seem trivial, but knowing this is vital in my search for the perfect birthday gift. I believe it is something like "leno" or maybe it at least starts with an "l". Or maybe I'm completely wrong. If any of you could point me in the right direction, I would be extremely grateful. (This may seem cheesy, but I need your help goddamnit!)

hahaha, well, I know it's not much to go off of but it's basically all I have. I know it's not a ball point pen and I do know that it's an older utensil that's not as prevalent now. Does anyone even have the slightest idea?

Best guess I can make is a Lyra propelling pencil, forshoutssake. Google it and check it out........
When I was a kid we used to have battles with the push-button (as opposed to the "twisty" kind) because you could make the leads shoot out of the end of the pencil and travel 2 or 3 feet!

Try your luck there. They have a list of nearly all better-quality leadholders and mechanical pencils (navigation list on the left side).

Thank you all so much! After a lot of searching and some guidance, I found what I was looking for. It's a Listo marking pencil. It's not exactly traditional, so it was kind of hard to identify, but I'm pretty content now. Thanks a lot guys, and now I'm 100% interested in the Lyra propelling pencils. :)
