How do you promote your art?

Hey, I'm just wondering how you guys all promote your art, do you use coffee shops? do you set up shop at a local show? do you just use the internet? I'm just curious what works for you guys.

There are various ways, small local shows, having online art galleries, some restaurants do have an arrangement where they'll display your art with contact info, they get free decoration and you get the opportunity to display your art to people who may buy it, coffee shops tend to be popular for that.

You could also try perhaps approaching some of the smaller galleries though they will take a percentage of the selling price.

Largely though how and where you promote your art is based a lot on what type of art it is. You obviously wouldn't promote still lifes at an anime convention after all. You need to find places that match your artwork or have clients who are the demographic you're aiming to sell to.
