Well, not really doom.

I've been a lurker for a while, trying to motivate and teach myself how to draw again, in the hopes of an exhibition of concept artwork at a gallery in London.
Most of the innitial work will be raw ideas, concepts and quick sketches, spaceships, enviroments etc.

Artwork to come soon!

Most of my older stuff is 3d work, mostly high poly models for normal maps and general visualisation.

REALLY like the ones where you fully shaded and colored everything, wish I could do that (maybe you've got some tips for me.)

Something that I think you could work on, is to use "support" lines when drawing a dynamic angle of the ships, things like this tend to be very symmetric so smack up a few lines when you draw, they really help alot! (Might be, that you've just posted a few quick sketches wich are meant to be cleaned up and so on later. But you should still try it, even on the quick sketches, after a while the lines will appear automatically and you wont even have to draw them out! =)

Other then that, I'm really impressed =)

The line work and shading was done using markers, the colouring was done in photoshop ... getting the line work done is the hard part...

I'm thinking I may need to use pencil outlines more often....

Anyway, let me know what you think of the updates...

I really enjoy your spaceship designs, the small details that you put into them really give them a sense of scale. But if I might make a suggestion, I think youre drawings could really benifit from a french curve and a ruler, or at least continuous contour lines instead of multiple lines whose connection points are visibly not part of the ship design. Also (but not necessary) perhaps take a light source into account when inking your ships and vary the thickness of your line width in relation to it.

Thanks for the tips, I recently just bought a set of french curves although i'll be damned if I know how to use them.
Expect more drawings soon.
