Had a go at doing smoke using watercolours...does it improve the illustration?

erm, I could really go into it but I think I would bore everyone. Basically the monster is a good character and is vital to compleating the task of the main hero.

Anyone any views on which of the 2 is better?

If I do smoke I use the smudge and blur tools in Photoshop with low opacity black, white, and a light grey. It usuallyl works alright... but that is the only method I know of.

A small comment... your artwork here seems to lack a focus point. I'm not sure what to look at, but maybe some more contrast and lighting would help with that. =D

Keep up the great work!

I just noticed the second picture with the added smoke in lighting. That did wonders for the quality of the picture! Awesome stuff.
