Lots of your faces look the same. The eyes and the general shape of the face is too common among your characters. This is an easy rut to fall into. I've noticed this with lots of artists, even guys like Jim Lee (even though he is the man). You should practice drawing different faces from life. It will make your style come to life.

What's the deal with the mom power picture? I hope I'm not wrong in my thinking of the direction you're taking this character. I would like to hear more about it.

Hey, Chromo. Thanks for the comments. You're absolutely right...I noticed that about my faces a while back...I haven't done much since to remedy the problem, but I need to, and I will.

And you're also right...Jim Lee is the man. :)

Concerning the mom power picture...if you noticed, there is also a picture of a baby up there, as well as a boy who looks to be between the ages of 6 and 8, and also a man looking as if he's beginning to bald...these are a series of sketches for a comic strip that I had in mind to make entitled "Beyond the Horizon", a story about the everyday goings-on of a lower-middle class family struggling to survive. The mother, Madelyn or Magdalene (I hadn't decided), is intended to be a lady who struggled against all of the adversity and trials of everyday life to keep a positive attitude and take care of her children and husband (she is a housewife). So that's the story behind that.

So tell me...were you wrong?

Oh...Sorry I didn't get back to you on that. I've been busy.

Yeah, I guess I was close, I was just thinking she looked really tired and overworked, like married life and motherhood had taken its toll on her at a somewhat early age. I thought the T-shirt was a great touch.

The husband looks like he's balding, and I know its just a pencil sketch, but he looks like he's greying as well.

You really do well with your characers and expressions, I enjoy looking at these a lot.

i like what you've posted here, esp. the first portrait. It seems you are developing quite confident lines. I've seen similar issues in my sketches with very reminiscent faces and facial forms. I'm trying to break the cycle and get into some fresh personalities. You really must consciously try and break old habits. Great starts.
