a sample that I'm sending to Marvel on their request, all 2D, done in Photoshop, actual comic size @ 300 DPI.. any crits or comments would be helpful for my review.
I posted this in the other forums and planned on doing so here as well, just got temporarily sidetracked, but now here it is.. (so if you have seen it, sorry to spam)

Nice work, GC! Go for it! FF is my all-time fave. The architecture (incl the torture rack) is beautifully done, but is the lighting as moody as it could be? It's a sunny, cheerful alley- make it gloomy and underlit, or wracked by towering flames or sumpin' even better! Your drawing skills are sa-wheet, but you'e gotta pump some drama into it! Doom is the kind of badass weirdo that would be absolutely creaming at this perverse moment of triumph, as beleagured hero Mr. Fantastic struggles to free himself from his nemesis' nefarious snare! Or maybe the answer is to talk like Stan Lee, or in Kirbese..:) Er..., specifically speaking, his eyes, mouth shoulders, knees are all in the same plane- gotaa twist that figure, put one foot forward... How would a demented megalomaiacal despot gloat? Hitler did his little dancestep at France's darkest hour- what WOULD Doom do? I'd wager he'd build a crueller rack, with all manner of barbs and spikes and,,, eeeeehhhhhwwww. I'll leave with a real nerdy question. How did the Lord of Latveria tear that emblem out of Reed's unstabley molecular coverall? ;)

I love comic art and this is definitely some top notch work. The only criticism I would give is, it took me awhile to figure out what was going on. Without being able to see Reed's face/head it was a little confusing to make out that it was Mr. Fantastic being stretched out in the backround. I figured it out after staring at it for a few seconds, but I think work like this should grab the viewer immediately and not make them work for the image. Then again, what do I know? Obviously if Marvel is requesting YOU send THEM work, you must be doing something right, eh? Keep up the good work.

I think its some beautiful work, my only complaint is your background and what doom is standing on look so photo realistic and Dr. Doom looks a little more "fake" as compared to everything else, but it looks great...is any of that photo manipulation??

Beuatiful rendering. Doom looks really un-energetic and the perspective is a bit weird looking too.

Yeah. I thought the picture is lovely, but he's a bit stiff- too gentle with the badge. Shoulda had him clasping a torn sleeve or something. Very nice, though.
