if you change your filenames from .jpg to .txt geocities will allow you to direct link
aka
change
D:\My Artwork\Spacewarrior.jpg
to
D:\My Artwork\Spacewarrior.txt
then upload
Http://www.geocities.com/blah/blah/blah/Spacewarrior.txt
and link it using the img code
you need to save the files as jpg first then change them to txt
deviant art will only allow you to give links

easyspace.com does allow, but it's slow like a crippled monkey circus performer. and it's instructions are as confusing as a one eyed dog on steriods. but give it a try.

hey thanks for the advice guys! that's a sneaky way of doing it davi, I think I'll give it a try. I dont like the sound of that slow one jr.. maybe if i get desperate.
er I don't understand how to change from jpg to txt. at what stage do I have to do it? before or after I've uploaded it? It won't change before, that's for certain.. help!:(

easy as pie, dude. after you have saved the .jpg file (before you upload it), just locate it in explorer, right click on it and hit 'rename'. then replace 'jpg' with 'txt'.
if a window pops up telling you the file may become unusable or some crap, just hit yes.

man that must be in another windows or something. I have xp and when I right click and hit rename, there is no 'jpg', just the name i gave the file. then if i wack txt on the end it ends up 'picture.txt.jpg'. SO FRUSTRATING.

If you click on a folder, look for the toolbar at the top...
1. Click on "Tools"
2. Then select "Folder Options"
3. Move to "VIEW"
4. Look for a box that says "Hide extensions for known file types"
5. Just uncheck that to see the extensions.
6. Hit Okay.
7. Right click, hit rename, and just replace the .JPG tag with .TXT
Hope I made it simple enough :)

free.fr offers 100 megs, best thing i've seen. if you're not into french (like me) just try babelfish or sth.
