I'm getting a new mac soon and want to keep cost down by not getting an apple monitor right off the bat. I love them don't get me wrong I want to get one in the future but need to keep the cost of the loan down as much as possible.

I would like to know if anyone has a quality monitor they recommend for a good price. It doesn't have to be flat screen although I would prefer one. I know of the formac monitors and I'm considering them but would like to see what you all think.

Thanks for the time.

Donnie.

Always being on a tight budget myself I can relate to this (also Im a mac and pc user). :D
Ive gone through some monitors myself but Im no expert.
I now use one dell 17 (trinitron inside) and one old apple 17 (also trini), theyre both good. I bought the apple used for $40!!!

Theres not really so many manufacturers of monitors in the world, I think its about 7 (a friend checked this a year ago) so the inside is pretty much the same.

A flat trinitron is usually good.

Oh, U might need a converter if you are going with a "pc" type connection monitor (although the newer macs have "pc" monitor connections to, and the newst , hmmm, dvi???, heck, U probably know this already!). best pc to mac monitor connector i ever had is the "uni macfly", great piece of hardware.

Not much help, but good luck too ya! :D
