Next-Generation Game Studio Seeks 3 Concept Artists

Note: This position has been altered from its original format to suit the requirements of posting in the Freelance Jobs thread.

A new game company called Visaga Studios has just been assembled out of Oakland, California. From what I have been allowed to disclose to you, we will be working on a number of titles set in a fantasy world like nothing previously seen in the gaming community. I can also tell you big industry names from God of War II and Stranglehold are involved.

In order to qualify for this full-time, onsite position, you will need to be willing to (a) have a face-to-face meeting with the team (at our expense), (b) take an art test, if necessary, and (c) push yourself to do your best every day.

We are taking a new approach to hiring artists. While credentials are always a plus, we value talent and work ethic over anything. We will hire based on talent should an applicant excel our expectations in artistic prowess.

If these sound like terms you can agree to, please adhere to the following instructions precisely to be considered:

1) Compose an email entitled “Game Concept Artist”
2) Include in the body of your email a working link to your online gallery featuring your best work to date.
3) Include in the body of your email your willingness to take an art test if we require it.
4) Send only one email.

I will be acting as a filter to Cory, the game’s director. Only the finest entries will be forwarded to him. Please email me at info at bluedisciple dot com. If I am told that the competition is tight, I will administer the art test for Cory to help determine the best choices.

Everything is underway now. I know some of the guys are in the process of getting a company website up, but it is currently offline. When it comes around, you’ll be able to visit us at visagastudios.com.

I feel it is important to note that if you are selected as one of Cory’s choices, you will need to have a phone interview with him and the other leads before you are flown out to Oakland for the face-to-face.

Payment would be ongoing. Each small project will earn you about $500, but the projects are CONSTANT. If you are selected, you will be doing about five to fifteen of them a month. Payment per project is negotiable for those with lots of industry experience.

Good luck to applicants. I may not be able to respond to all of you!
