Hi and hello!
I'm a big fan of the Swedish folklore illustrator John Bauer.
I thought that I could give those who don't know him a heads up.
Bauer has set a standard in swedish folklore by converting the grim forrest beings into something natural and sympathic. I've always appreciated his work of art, As a kid I sometimes searched the bookcase after this very book named "Bland tomtar och troll" (Among Gnomes and Trolls). Not that I could read, no. I knew the stories already thanks to my dear old mom who read it to me way back. I looked through the book, searched it for all the pictures that revealed the world behind the words and phrases. I wished the illusion of the fairytale was true. I wished that I could walk into the deep green, mossy forrest and find and talk to the creatures whom lived there. (still wishing today).
For you out there who might feel the slightest intrest towards this amazing illustrator and artist. Pay a visit to this link. http://bauer.artpassions.net/
Much joy!
