I have been on this forum for about a year. Recently, while looking at the sketchbooks someone stated that they were doing "steampunk" type artwork. I cant remember who the person was, but as a result of that post I have been exploring the world of steampunk.I would like to see more steampunk artwork,so if anyone has anything to offer regarding this subject please let me know.

I'm currently doing a 'steampunkesque' style mini project with a collegue at work and psting some pix up in my sketchbook. A mix of Victorian fashion and influences mixed with mechanical steam powered structures...but with Lycans thrown into the mix! I really like the genre personally, it's great for creating dingy, grubby, polluted looking environments too.
I live in London too, so strong Victorian influences are everywhere for inspiration! :)

Well, in that case. But you should consider securing a copy before it vanishes even off eBay and the like. You know, for later, quieter times.

Zodiac, Snow crash, Diamond Age
These are not steampunk, tho Snow Crash is CYBERpunk, Zodiac is in the very recent past (late 80's I'd say) and Diamond Age is in the rather far future.
However the Baroque cycle (by Neal Stephenson again) does have that slight steampunk patina of clockwork wonders of the past.
Edit: as far as movies go, WildWildWest is apparently a good exemple.

This is a random question for all you steam-powered experts, but is there any music that is steampunky? That is to say, sort of reminds you of clockwork, of gears and pulleys, and could inspire you to draw some steampunk?

Abney Park present themselves as steampunk music, not sure if it makes any sense, but the music is good, in a gothy-world music way.
